One component of our breakfast service included in an overnight stay at the Lake House.   Creamy, acidic and not too sweet with the perfect kiss of VT maple syrup!  We also use this yogurt in couscous salads and vegetarian dipping sauces.

Jane Pomykala has hot house tomatoes ready for us to start serving this weekend!  Pictured above is a simple, but delicious, tray of herb toasted crostini spread with a mixture of minced fresh and our house cured tomatoes garnished with tangy Vt Goat Cheese.

Summer is in full swing with temperatures in the 90′s!  It is this time of year that we think of light, fresh appetizers like our Imperial Rolls!  Pomykala’s now has fresh basil; there is plenty of mint and cilantro in our garden and we can pick up the other ingredients in one of Burlington’s Asian Markets.  Fresh herbs, grated carrots, Native alfalfa sprouts & rice noodles all wrapped in rice paper make up these colorful Vietnamese inspired bites dipped in Hoisin, Peanut or Sweet Chile Sauces.  Light, Summery & Refreshing!

There are many things we love about fall at the Lake House and we especially look forward to serving Papa Ray’s Apple Pies!  Handmade using only their own apples with the best crust ever!  Allenholm Farm is located in South Hero.  They have a small farm store featuring both their own and other great VT products as well as a small animal petting paddock.  Maple Creamies too!  Stop in and check them out when you are visting the Champlain Islands.

We are currently working on a menu for the evening of Friday, October 23 featuring the wines of Antinori Vineyards with Bill O’Connor of Baker Distributing.   Antinori Vineyards have been in operation since the end of the the 14th Century and offer wines that show why! 

 The menu to be posted in the next couple weeks will feature local produce & cheeses, prepared with a Tuscan twist.   $65 per person includes 5 courses paired with outstanding Tuscan wines! Please call 802.372.5024 for reservations.

We use at least one, often even two, variety of Londonderry’s Taylor Farm’s handmade, small batch goudas on every VT Cheese & Fresh Fruit Display.  Working with a herd of fifty Jerseys & Holsteins, this small family owned farm makes first class, awarding wining European style Goudas. 

Our absolute favorite is their Maple Smoked Gouda featured here in VT Apple & Smoked Gouda Tartlets.  We bake a smoked gouda custard in phyllo dough and finish them with a dollop of Macintosh Apple Chutney. 

We are always happy to prepare a vegetarian selection for your guests and have often been told that our Grilled Vegetable Napoleon is, by far, the BEST vegetarian selection that anyone has ever had at a wedding.  It is attractive enough that even the omnivores wish they had chosen it!
