Taylor Farm’s Gouda

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

We use at least one, often even two, variety of Londonderry’s Taylor Farm’s handmade, small batch goudas on every VT Cheese & Fresh Fruit Display.  Working with a herd of fifty Jerseys & Holsteins, this small family owned farm makes first class, awarding wining European style Goudas.

Our absolute favorite is their Maple Smoked Gouda featured here in VT Apple & Smoked Gouda Tartlets.  We bake a smoked gouda custard in phyllo dough and finish them with a dollop of Macintosh Apple Chutney.

Caroline & Brett ~ June 27th, 2009

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

We all enjoyed a refreshing change of pace with Caroline and Brett’s “brunch” wedding.  We ended up with a gorgeous day and the guests were able to enjoy the beauty of the Grand Isle Lake House in the early afternoon.  As Caroline and Brett were off early in the morning for their honeymoon, they spent their wedding night in Burlington, while some of their family and friends had the whole evening to relax at the Lake House.

A friend of the family, Mick O’Brien, serenaded the couple at the rehearsal dinner as well as the wedding ceremony.  It is personal involvement like this that I believe makes a wedding that much more special.

Caroline’s flowers reminded me of the flowers I had at my own wedding, so of course I absolutely loved them!  Once again, Flowers In Season provided the bouquets and centerpieces (as they did for mine) and they were just perfect – hydrangeas, peonies and the softest palest pink roses I have ever seen, helped set the scene for a beautiful summer wedding.

Congratulations Caroline and Brett!!

Mia & Adam ~ June 20th, 2009

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

Although this has been a wet summer so far, the weather certainly cooperated with us on this one!  Mia and Adam had a beautiful day and we couldn’t have been happier for them.

One of the most important things for Mia and Adam was to feature Vermont products in every way possible. Their menu consisted of locally grown vegetables, Vermont cheeses, Misty Knoll Chicken and featured delicious local strawberries in the salad and the wedding cake.  Vermont Cake Studio used local eggs, cream and strawberries in the gorgeous wedding cake and many of the flowers were grown by Flowers In Season.  We feel so lucky to have such talented farmers, bakers and florists to work with – Mia and Adam’s wedding was classic and lovely thanks to everyone’s dedication and hard work.

Congratulations Mia and Adam!

Grilled Vegetable Napoleon

We are always happy to prepare a vegetarian selection for your guests and have often been told that our Grilled Vegetable Napoleon is, by far, the BEST vegetarian selection that anyone has ever had at a wedding.  It is attractive enough that even the omnivores wish they had chosen it!

Pictured here with Lemon Mashed Potatoes, this version features VT Soy Company’s Tofu layered with freshly grilled Summer Squash, Carrots, Mushrooms, Eggplant & Vine Ripened Tomatoes; all topped with Maplebrook Farm’s Fresh Mozzarella and drizzled with a VT Maple Reduction.
